What’s a Summer barbecue without a side of coleslaw? After all, what could be unhealthy about a recipe made almost entirely of shredded cabbage? The other ingredients, that’s what!
Most traditional coleslaw recipes call for mayo and a few tablespoons of sugar. Now I’m not saying this recipe is mayo-free, but we aren’t using one that has canola oil and sugar listed in its ingredients.
I love using avocado oil mayo, but don’t be fooled by some of the ones on the shelves at your local grocery store. Some of them still contain added sugars and ingredients that aren’t the friendliest for your gut.
For this recipe, I usually use my homemade mayo, but when I’m in a pinch these are some of my preferred avocado oil mayo brands to buy:
